Computer Field Technician

We are looking for a full time permanent IT Field Engineer.

Our field engineers visit schools and small businesses within approx 30 mile radius of our office in Radstock. During these managed service visits we look at any IT issues they may have raised, and generally look after their equipment and network. We also allocate some time during the week to our helpdesk, this not only helps expand skill sets it is also a nice opportunity for team building.

We are looking for a motivated engineer to look after our clients, someone confident and always willing to go the extra mile to assist with their problems.

As well as field engineers, we have a successful helpdesk and workshop in brand new bespoke premises. The team are always on hand to support engineers on site with anything required.

The successful candidate will need a good working knowledge to enable them to look after the day-to-day management of hardware and software.

We will provide a company car, mobile phone and uniform. We offer 28 days holiday and company pension.


IT Support Technician key Responsibilities:

· Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on your own and as part of a team.

· Assist with troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.

· Maintaining and supporting servers, virtualisation environment and any other IT hardware and software. (With the assistance of the second and third line technicians)

· Liaising with 3rd Parties and suppliers when required.

· Provide support to users and clients via face-to-face, telephone, email and remote control.

· Maintaining and supporting IT security controls and applications.

· Project management

· Documenting Infrastructure Systems, configuration and processes in line with ISO 9001

IT Support Technician key skills/experience.

· Previous experience in a similar role.

· Full clean Driver’s license.

· Window Srv 2008-2019.

· Window and Office all versions.

· SQL Databases

· TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy.

· vSphere/Esxi 5/6.

· Veeam Backup/Replication.

· Networking Management, Infrastructure Cabling and Patching.

· Security/Firewall.

· Troubleshooting PC, Laptop and Printer software and hardware.
